Description:
Abstract:
This dataset shows schools that are vulnerable to a 100-year coastal flood event with a 1.4 meter sea-level rise in California (year 2100 scenario). The school data was extracted from the FEMA HAZUS model and was intersected with the flooding layers created by the Pacific Institute and USGS/SCRIPPS.
Purpose:
To quantify the number of schools that would be vulnerable to a 100-year coastal flood event with a 1.4 meter sea-level rise in California (year 2100 scenario) if no protection measures are taken.
Supplemental_Information:
The school data was acquired from the FEMA HAZUS model for which information can be accessed at: <http://www.fema.gov/plan/prevent/hazus/>
